Excuse the tiny pun, but it’s Christmas exposition time in France. They are almost every weekend from mid November and our creative hubs are on full steam making, crafting, painting and printing.

I have my notebooks and prints, but wanted to try and create some craft pieces, word blocks and felt tree decorations.  I love wood, painting and typography, and I love the toy aspect of spelling favorite words to illustrate a mood or a place.  I have a set that says “HOME” and another that says “TOYS”. Sometimes I spell “FUN” or “BIRDS”, depending on what project I am doing.

I had fun working out the algorithm of making numerous words and found I needed two “A”s. And I lost count and forgot to paint four yellow blocks. I had started with “NOEL”, but in the end it didn’t fit.

I’ve printed little canvas bags to hold each set of four and hopefully they will prove popular and I can make more . I would love to do more decorative designs and maybe even story blocks. As always my head is full of ideas. Better get those yellow ones finished. 💛
